We went to the Revolutionary War reenactment weekend. They charge quite a bit more than their normal entrance fees for the reenactment weekend. And it was mostly vendors to buy things so it wouldn't necessarily do the reenactment weekend again. But if you are looking for a good home school option or historical tour of a plantation home from the 17 hundreds I would recommend this during their regular hours.

A pleasure to meet Hugh and Paula.

What a wonderful place, a fascinating insight into the world of the pioneers and the American war of independence.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Told the story with enthusiasm in such a way you could visualize how was to live in that time. The woman working the gift shop was also very nice and informative.

This is actually a complex with several historic buildings. Allow 2 hours if you want to see everything. The docents are passionate about sharing their love of history. The house itself is beautiful and well-preserved, showing interesting changes that have been made to it over the years. The docents are happy to answer any questions - they're extremely knowledgeable.

Be sure to visit this great historical plantation. Docents have lots of knowledge about the time period and the plantation. Best time to visit is during their Festi-fall weekend which is usually the first weekend in October. During that weekend they have music, authors, catered lunch to purchase, and period crafts people from all over the Southeast. There is also a Revolutionary War battle reenactment with demos of camp life. Be sure to visit the period camp "stores" (called sutlers) selling books, glassware, games, clothing, pottery, etc.

Also wonderfully friendly and welcoming people.
